چکیده

Purpose: The aim of the study was to investigate effect electromyography biofeedback (EMG-BF), which in addition conventional electrophysical therapy (EPT) commonly used symptomatic treatment carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), on motor parameters such as strength and reaction time functional pain function upper extremity.
Materials Methods: Patients diagnosed with CTS were divided into two groups. first group EPT only (control group, n=46 hands), second that received EMG-BF (research n=42 hands). (VAS), hand grip (HGS), audio-visual (ART-VRT), extremity disability (Quick DASH) patients both groups assessed before after program.
Results: After treatment, VRT, ART, HGS, Quick DASH significantly better favor +EMG- BF group. Before resting state (VASr), mobile (VASm), night (VASn) VAS values similar between training, -values –group.
Conclusion: Although applications provide effective results rehabilitation CTS, together more meaningful process.

The Effects of Exercise Therapy on Functional Status in Patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Background: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is one of the most commonly encountered peripheral nerve ending disorders that occurs after compression or strangulation of the median nerve in the wrist tunnel. The functional status is greatly impaired in the daily activities of a patient with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and may cause problems for the subjects. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate ...

The Relationship between Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyography Findings in Patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common neuropathy in the general population. Nerve conduction studies are among the standard methods for diagnosing carpal tunnel syndrome. Electromyography is painful and unpleasant, and if nerve conduction studies can be used to diagnose axonal injury in carpal tunnel syndrome, electromyography might be replaced. Objectives: This study aimed t...

Postures of upper extremity correlated with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS).

OBJECTIVES Non-medical hospital staff members are in frequent contact with patients and therefore are required to perform a wide variety of repetitive and high-frequency activities. The objective of this study was to assess the relationships between upper extremity activity and carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) among non-medical hospital staff members. MATERIAL AND METHODS Carpal tunnel syndrome i...

A Comparison of Hand Pain and Hand Function after Z-plasty Reconstruction of the Transverse Carpal Ligament with Traditional Median Neurolysis in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common focal mono-neuropathy. A study was designed to compare the effects of traditional open carpal tunnel release with median neurolysis and Z-plasty reconstruction of the transverse carpal ligament on post-operative hand pain and hand function in patients with idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome.   Methods: Fifty-two patients with idiopathi...

Effect of Rehabilitation Interventions on Sensation, Function, and Pain of the Patients With Carpal Tunnel Release

Objectives: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is now the most common type of nerve compression neuropathies constituting about (90%) of the neuropathic disorders. To attain the optimal recovery following the operation, a rehabilitation intervention is urgent. This study aims at investigating the efficacy of short and long term rehabilitation interventions following Carpal Tunnel Release (CTR) on mot...
